The Lincoln Days Circuit
The Lincoln Days Circuit
An excellent week on the campaign trail, despite some nastiness by our opponent.
We had meet & greets in Montpelier, Ucon, and Ammon. We want to thank everyone who took the opportunity to come by and meet Josh, ask good questions, and help us better understand the needs of our district. Jon Goode and Josh even knocked on some doors in Montpelier, despite the snowflakes that were coming down around us. We heard some similar concerns again: record growth, rising costs, and protecting Idaho values.
This weekend was a whirlwind of activity. We drove to Soda Springs on Friday evening, and Laramie helped Josh make phone calls to potential voters while driving. Then she helped him rehearse his stump speech, and even offered simulated heckling!
Saturday morning we enjoyed a fine pancake breakfast hosted by the Caribou County Republican Committee at the Tigert Middle School. It was a fine event, with well over 150 people in attendance. Josh was able to give his stump speech, and we got to hear from several excellent candidates for statewide offices. We were pleased to attend. Afterwards, Josh got to tour the Pioneer Cemetery there in Soda, and then knock doors in a nearby neighborhood. He had some great conversations with residents there. His favorite interaction was the sweet lady who opened the door and said, "Thank you for running!" before Josh could even say a word. Needless to say, she has a sign in her yard now.
That evening, we attended a Bannock County Lincoln Days event at the fabulous Stephen's Performing Arts Center. It was nice to meet some more of the fine Republicans from Bannock County, and we are glad to know we will be representing some of them.
We are so happy to announce that we have met our fundraising goal for this month. We know that we are going to need every cent we can round up still, because we fully expect attacks to come hot and heavy during the final ten days before the primary.
We are looking forward to spending some time in Driggs, Iona, and at the Ucon Easter Egg hunt this week. Please help us keep spreading the word to the good people of Eastern Idaho.
We will keep moving forward, doing the Idaho Values Work!
